Lessans Riding Stables

Riding School Info

General Information

We are an ideal place to learn to ride, or improve on your skills and can teach anyone from over the age of 4 years old.

We have a large range of well schooled horses and ponies to suit all abilities and clients are welcome to bring their own horse for lessons.

All clients must complete a Rider Registration Form before riding so we advise that you arrive 10-15 minutes early for your lesson to complete this.

What to Wear

We recommend that you or your child wear tracksuit bottoms/leggings or ideally jodphurs. Jeans are not suitable for riding in.

Shoes or boots with a small heel are suitable, with wellies being ideal if you do not have riding boots. Trainers are very dangerous to ride in as they have no heel so the foot can slip through the stirrup and become stuck. For this reason clients are not permitted to ride in trainers.

We can provide riding hats, boots(we have a limited range of sizes so we do advise you bring your own) and other equipment free of charge when needed.

Please make sure that if you are wearing your own hat that it is up to standard- it must be; BSI or Euro standard PAS 015, EN 1384 or ASTM F1163 and it must be solid and unbroken.
